What We Do
We take a practical, informed and collaborative approach to protecting Southend’s green belt. Our aim is to ensure local voices are heard and that decisions reflect the needs of our community.
- Raise awareness about the threats to our green belt.
- Monitor planning applications and planning policy proposals.
- Research and share factual information, maps and evidence.
- Encourage and support informed objections from local residents.
- Engage with local authorities, councillors and other stakeholders.
- Seek specialist advice where needed, including planning, environmental & legal expertise.
- Bring the community together through events, meetings and online discussion.

A Community-Led, Independent Campaign
Save Southend Green Belt is a non-profit, community-led organisation, run by local volunteers who care about the future of our area. We are politically independent and not affiliated with any political party.
We believe in transparency, responsible use of funds and working constructively with all stakeholders to protect Southend’s green spaces for future generations.
